Q. How long do your appointments take?
A. Appointments normally take no less than 30 minutes and no more than 1 ½ hours.

Q. What kind of things can your clinic treat besides pain?
A. Internal Medicine (Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal) Diabetes, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), Men's Health (Prostate cancer and Impotence) and Female's Health (Breast Cancer and Menstrual Irregularities), and Neurological Disorders (MS, and Parkinson's Disease)

Q. Does acupuncture hurt?
A. Normally acupuncture does not hurt. However at times it is expected to feel a slight mosquito like prick which lasts at the most 5 seconds. If there is any lasting pain during or after a treatment, then please understand something is not correct.

Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. This depends on the condition being treated. Some may require one treatment some may require 10 treatments. The condition and length of the condition determine the treatment plan.

Q. Can children receive acupuncture?
A. Yes children can receive acupuncture. Depending on the age, some children may be more agreeable to needless acupuncture, please inquire.

Q. What happens during the treatment?
A. Sometimes you may be positioned on your back, your side, your stomach, or sitting. Trust you can remain relaxed in this position. Movement at the time of the treatment will be prohibited.

Q. What should I do during the treatment session?
A. During the treatment you should practice a relaxed, slow and rhythmic abdominal breathing through your nose. Tell yourself to let go and avoid doing any mental work.

Q. What sensations will I experience during treatment?
A. There should be a pleasant state of calm. This can occur before the treatment or during and persist for some time. Most clients fall asleep during the treatment session. In areas that are treated, a sensation of energy, heaviness, numbness or electricity happens for up to an hour or so after the treatment.

Some patients find that the pain or discomfort of the condition is reduced or even completely eliminated. Usually, the relief will persist, if other recommendations are followed, however in some circumstances the pain will return after a few hours or days to its previous level. In some situations, a slight worsening of pain occurs before improvement is seen.

Some disorders show no immediate effect and the condition may take a few days or a series of treatments to respond. We will always seek feedback from you on the status of treatments at the next appointment so that necessary changes can be made to your treatment plan.

Q. What should I do after treatment?
A. Most clients sit in silence and gather their thoughts. A light walk or very mindful exercises are also helpful after a treatment. Large meals, vigorous exercise, alcohol or excessive aggravation should be avoided.

Q. Will Chinese "herbal" formulas help me?
A. Normally, physicians trained in Oriental medicine will prescribe dietary supplements. These dietary supplements are mostly derived from plants and minerals. Sometimes animal products are used. Depending on the initial treatment or a series of acupuncture sessions, herbal formulas are indispensable in the treatment plan. Clients should maintain these herbal dietary supplements in addition to their treatment protocol to benefit from Oriental Medicine. Generally speaking most dietary supplements are taken daily for weeks or months. All of our herbal formulas free of the side effects commonly found in pharmaceutical drugs.
